  3. Pack & Move!!! yay!! but booooo... haha
I'm super stoked to move! We have so much time to move from our apts into our new one, so I think we'll be ok. I just hope that I'll be able to organize my teaching stuff to focus on packing & moving.

I forget I have this blog.

It's true! I forget that I have this awesome blog to update my many followers, haha. ;)

Well, what to update on...

Ummmm....

THE 2000 is going really well! MUCH better than I expected. I've actually been able to lecture for as long as the class is! :) A whole hour & 15 minutes of me jabbering on about theatre. It's actually quite remarkable when I run out of time & have to spill into the next class.
I hope they're learning. Learning something. Or able to apply what they've learned to something they like in their lives. Or don't like. Whatever.

I'm housesitting for Charlie & Audrey and that's been super fun! They have a sweet nugget of a cat, Tito, & he's a big fan of my Toms. Haha. I've got these burlap Toms that go with everything & he loves to rub his face up against them. I think he's a fan of the texture. Super cute.
By the way, Toms is #1 in my book right now, as far as companies giving back. They've got this awesome One-For-One program. So, when I buy a pair of Toms, they give a pair of shoes to a child in need in Africa, for example. They're doing this new program called One-For-One Eyesight. The shades bought are pretty pricey for a poor grad. student like yours truly, but the money goes towards a person's glasses, eye treatment, or surgery! It's very inspiring. Check them out at: www.toms.com/eyewear/our-movement for more info!

All right, that's it. I should go & be more productive. Rereading Fences since I'm lecturing on that on Monday!

Finished the first week of Summer B!

And here we go again.... 2nd half of summer teaching has commenced!

School started on Monday. Been so so SO busy. I'm teaching Theatre Appreciation this term, which was stressing me out like WHOA. But I worked really hard & put together lectures that actually made some sense (haha) & now the first week is OVER! so proud. whew!

My students this term are really cool. It's interesting to pick out who's tuning in & who's zoning out. Caught a kid sleeping in the front row, haha. But I think it's safe to say they ALL think I'm cray-cray.

4th of July weekend this weekend! It's a nice long weekend, which I'm STOKED for. Tomorrow, we're hitting the beach. Not sure what we'll do on Monday to celebrate, but hopefully it'll involve grilling...

Be safe & happy this weekend!

lazy Sunday

FINALLY sleeping in, after an action-packed weekend. A LOT has happened this week:
  1. Teched, Opened, & Closed Oedipus
  2. Got into the Summer Dance Intensive!!! yay
  3. Beach yesterday. I just want to live on the beach.
  4. Karaoke last night.
It doesn't seem like a lot, but it feels like a lot. I guess the amount of pictures I uploaded onto facebook make me feel like I've done a lot.

The beach yesterday was gorgeous. Joshua, Davida, Katie, & myself went, along with Ryan & his girl, Chelsea. It was fun having a new dynamic on the beach. We missed Wayne though!
Yellow flags greeted us upon arrival again, which meant that the rip current was pretty strong. I thought it was strong the last time we were there, but it seemed even stronger this time!
I bought this awesome beach umbrella with a stand that digs a hole into the sand & it turned out to be a pretty sweet investment. Only $30.00 for 7.5 feet of shade, haha.
I just LOVE spending time with friends. These people are my family here, so it's great to bond in this way, in such a stunning place.

Oedipus went really well. I really enjoyed doing this show. The process from beginning to end was fun & not a chore to be a part of. Yanci is an inspiration & I'm very thankful I got to work with him as a director. Hopefully that won't be the last show with him before I graduate!

Last week of ORI is this week. And then I'm on to Summer B & Theatre Appreciation. Sigh. I gotta get my stuff together & organize this class!
